Towing

What we roll out for

Cars, SUVs, pickups, vans, motorcycles, and light commercial vehicles. Tell dispatch what you drive and where it sits, and the right truck is on its way.

Roadside assistance

Fixed on the spot, no tow needed

Most calls end with you driving away. The truck carries a booster pack, a jack and impact gun, lockout tools, fuel cans, and a stock of common battery sizes.

How dispatch works

Three steps from stuck to moving

01

Call 734-985-0010

A dispatcher answers 24/7 in English, Arabic, Spanish, German, or Romanian. Have your location, vehicle, and what happened ready — a cross street or exit number is enough.

02

The right truck is assigned

Dispatch matches the truck to your vehicle and where it's sitting. You get a straight ETA and the price is confirmed before the truck rolls.

03

Loaded, secured, delivered

We strap it down and take it where you say — your mechanic, the dealership, a body shop, or your driveway. Pay the driver and get an itemized receipt.

Questions

Questions drivers ask dispatch

Are you open 24 hours a day?

Yes. Safeway Services dispatch answers 734-985-0010 around the clock, seven days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A dispatcher picks up, not a voicemail box, takes your location and vehicle, and sends a truck.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Ypsilanti, MI and cover Washtenaw County and nearby communities, including Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti Township, Pittsfield Township, Superior Township, Saline, Dexter, Chelsea, Milan, Whitmore Lake, and Canton. Tows into Wayne, Livingston, Monroe, and Jackson counties are regular work too. See our service areas for local details.

What languages does dispatch speak?

Our dispatch and driving team speaks English, Arabic, Spanish, German, and Romanian. Call 734-985-0010 and use whichever of those is easiest for you. Explaining where you are and what went wrong in your own language saves time when you're stuck on the side of the road.

How do I request a tow or roadside help?

Call or text 734-985-0010. Tell dispatch where the vehicle is (an address, a cross street, or a highway and exit number), its year, make, and model, and what happened. The price is confirmed before a truck is sent. For a tow that isn't urgent, you can schedule it with a message instead.

How fast can you get to me?

It depends on where our nearest truck is when you call. Dispatch checks the trucks in real time and gives you an honest ETA on the phone — no invented averages. Calls on I-94, US-23, and M-14 in the Ypsilanti–Ann Arbor corridor are usually closest to our base; Chelsea, Whitmore Lake, and Milan take longer.

Do you bill my insurance?

No. We do not accept or bill insurance directly. You pay Safeway Services and receive an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer yourself.

What does a tow cost?

Towing is priced as a hook-up fee plus loaded miles, with add-ons for winching or vehicles that need a dolly or flatbed. Call dispatch with your location and vehicle — the price is confirmed before a truck is sent, so there are no surprises at the curb.

Can you tow an AWD, electric, or lowered vehicle?

Yes. All-wheel-drive vehicles, EVs, and low or damaged cars are carried, not dragged. Tell dispatch what you drive and we'll send the right truck the first time.

Will you tow my car to a shop outside Washtenaw County?

Usually, yes. Longer trips are priced by the loaded mile, so a run to a dealership in Wayne, Livingston, or Monroe County is a normal call for us — dispatch will quote it on the phone.

Do you buy or haul away junk cars?

No. Safeway Services does not offer junk, scrap, or abandoned vehicle removal. We tow running and non-running vehicles for their owners or operators.

Can you get my car out of impound?

No. We do not release vehicles from a police or municipal impound lot, and we do not handle repossessions. If your car was impounded, contact the impound lot or police department directly — they can tell you what's required and what it costs.

Stuck right now?

One call, straight to dispatch. 24 hours a day.

Tell us where you are, what you drive, and what happened. We answer in English, Arabic, Spanish, German, and Romanian.
